So he starts out with, “Nutritionists say that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day”, then he lists off one seriously messed-up menu. Did he say beef steaks, pork chops, apple pie and soda pop?!?! Eat all that for breakfast and God will call you home a little earlier than you expected.
And I love how in the cereal verse, he changed Grape Nuts to “No mo Nuts of Grapes”. Hmmm…
Just a few questions: Where do you get this stuff? Is this a real TV show? Why was the woman mooing into the mic like a cow?
I’m trying to picture the conversation between the author of the song and the producer of the TV show. The amazing thing is that at some point the producer actually had to say to himself, “Maybe a gospel song about not eating breakfast will up our ratings.” Truth is stranger than fiction.
A not so shocking aside to this song is that the guy died of heart disease two months after this video. I guess beefsteak for breakfast catches up with you.
